The Barony of Marinus invites you to celebrate autumn with us at a German Faire for the benefit of the public. The 14 acre site is the new brewery and organic farm for the Weeping Radish Tavern and will be available for our private entertainment after 5 pm each evening. Come out and put on a show for the public and then join us in a scrumptious feast followed by a bardic circle and revelry.
Martial Activities: Mounted cavalry games, Hound Coursing, Armored combat, Rapier, Archery, Siege weapons, thrown weapons. See website for details.
Arts & Sciences Activities: Brewing competition, garb competition, pastry/bread competition and open display. The theme for all competitions is "German or Bavarian" the details are up to you.
Cost: Anyone taking a seat at feast: $8.00. Add $5.00 to daytrip or camping fees if not paid by November 11, 2006.

Site: The Weeping Radish Brewery 6810 Caratoke Hwy. (NC 158), Grandy, NC 27939
Site Restrictions: Sopping wet site (alcohol permitted) Pets ok, but must remain on leash except during coursing activity. Owners must clean up after pets and horses. Plenty of room for camping. SCA tent area will not be open to public.
Feast: A scrumptious feast featuring German dishes is being prepared by Milady Liamhain Aodhagan. Contact her at

Merchants: Merchants will have a prime location and will be allowed to sell to the general public. The Merchant fee is a donation of one item worth at least $10.00 for use in the fundraiser or for prizes. Limited merchant space indoors. Bring your tents, tables and chairs. Contact the Event Steward to reserve a space.
Other Information: Children's Activities should include a Fox and Geese live action game and bookmaking. Hotel information can be found on the website.

Directions:
From North: Take your best route to I-64 East towards Virginia Beach. In Hampton take I-664 South towards the Monitor Merrimac Tunnel. Follow I-664 South through tunnel and around to I-64 West in Chesapeake, VA. Take I-64 West to exit #291 onto I-168 South (Oak Grove Connector also known as Chesapeake Expressway). Follow I-168 towards Manteo. There is a $2.00 toll at the end at the VA/NC state line where I-168 changes into NC 158 (Caratoke Hwy). Keep straight after toll, staying on NC 158 South towards Kitty Hawk. Site is on your right approximately 7 miles after the rest area on your right. Big blue warehouse with white trim and goats out front. (Alternate directions from North: take I-95 South down to NC 64 East and follow directions from West and South)
From West and South: Take best route to I-95 north. Take Exit # 138 onto US 64 East towards Elizabeth City. At Williamston turn left onto US 17 North towards Edenton and Elizabeth City. At Elizabeth City stay straight and road merges with US-158 South towards Kitty Hawk and Manteo Follow US-158 South to the site on your right. Look for a big blue warehouse with white trim and a goat pen between it and the road. SCA signs will be posted. (If you cross onto the barrier islands, you have gone too far.)
