Yule Toy Tourney XII
(2017-12-08 - 2017-12-10 - Site opens at 5:00 PM & Closes at 11:00)
Nottinghill Coill
For the past year, the populace of
Nottinghill Coill has been on a
crusade to discover new lands and
cultures. After many months the final
destination is at last before us -
Jerusalem! The Barony of Nottinghill Coill would like to welcome all who would join us in discovering the wonders that have been found - the arts, the beauty, and the adventure that she holds within her borders.
To join us as we bring our crusade to a triumphant end, we only ask that you bring a new, unwrapped toy as your entry fee. Once again, we will be collecting toys that will be donated to the Country Santa charity. The Country Santa Program collects toys for needy children across the upstate of South Carolina. For the past 12 years, we have been able to bring thousands of toys, clothing and food to needy children and their families. All of this due to the generosity of those that have attended this event in past years. Help us hit our goal of 1,000 toys for this year!

Arts & Sciences Activities: European and Middle Eastern Arts: Our Arts Champion, Lord Alwin, is sponsoring a competition where the entries should be related to our journey to Jerusalem. This competition showcases the culture and beauty of our traveler\'s destination or that of their own homeland – items they would have found in this foreign land, or things they would have brought with them on their journey, such as clothing or other lifestyle goods. A separate category includes the arts of inspiration - paintings, calligraphy and illumination, poetry, stories or song. We invite all to bring their arts to bear! Documentation, at least EZDocs, is required. All mediums are welcome within the site restrictions (no alcohol). Presentation counts.
European and Middle Eastern Sciences: Our Sciences Champion, Seigneur Etienne, is sponsoring a competition for the more technically oriented. Please feel free to enter anything science/research related to the event’s theme. This could be a research paper, preserves or pickling, or even something from the bakery. As long as you can relate it to science, it\'s welcome in this competition.Documentation, at least EZDocs, is required. All mediums are welcome within the site restrictions (no alcohol). Presentation counts.
Nottinghill Coill Largesse: Our A&S Champions are coming together to offer a competition to fulfill the largesse needs of the Barony. Baron Lucien and Baroness Brig regularly give gifts to our neighbors and our sovereigns on special occasions, like Coronations, Investitures or Baronial Birthdays. You are encouraged to use colors other than green & gold as these will end up being gifts for our neighbors or sovereigns! All entrants must create a half-dozen (6) of the same type of item based on the theme that are suitable for largesse. Items need not be documented. The winner will be selected by Baroness\' choice.
The winner gets to select one item from each of the other competitors... So 12 entries means the winner gets 11 prizes! The rest of the items entered into the competition will be donated to Their Excellencies, Nottinghill Coill, as Largesse.
