Midwinter's Tale
(2006-01-21 - Site opens at 8:00 AM & Closes at 9:30 PM)
Border Vale Keep

The days may be cold but there is always a warm welcome at the Shire of Border Vale Keep's almost-annual Midwinter's Tale. Help us while away the long winter hours by sharing your friendship, your skills and your knowledge. If you have more than 20 minutes' experience in any area (A&S or martial), please be willing to share what you know (and what you have learned NOT to do). It can be anything from how to make eyelets that won't tear out, to metal working, fighting Florentine, calligraphy, effective fighting from the ground, etc. A list of really good sources and how to find them also is a good idea. There will be no scheduled classes - just casual discussions as the spirit moves you.

Bring period board- and indoor-games (G-rated), and any portable projects or works-in-process.

There will be heavy, rapier and archery discussions and competitions.

Feast will be a below-the-salt event, with your cooperation. The Shire will provide meats (ham and turkey). Please bring a covered dish that will serve at least 8-12 people, and a list of the ingredients for those with allergies.
