Feast of the Dragon

The year is 1580, Nagasaki, Japan. Daimyo Omura Sumitada, the first Christian Daimyo, has ceded the port city of Nagasaki to the Jesuits. East and West come together to celebrate this event in a day full of competitions and companionship.

Martial Competitions:

Heavy: (Chivalric) Tourney style TBA

Rapier: (Honorable) Combatants will fight the DRAGON!

Archery: (Kyudo) Tourney style TBA

A&S Competitions:

Paper: Origami, Brush Painting (Sumi-e)

Fiber: Kumihimo, Temari

Open: Any Art or Science pertaining to Japanese Culture.

2. Kumihimo: Mistress Ealdthryth, cost: $2.00

4. Japanese Tea Courting Ceremony: John of the Western Woods, cost: $2.00

Class fees are to be paid directly to instructors.

Fire Performance: Denys and Solange, from Fire In Motion, will perform a show after Feast for the pleasure of the populace in honor of the Dragon. They will combine fire art techniques with the martial arts of the staff, whip and fans to brighten up the night and make it a little more exciting.

Non-member surcharge: add $3.00.
