As the summer comes to an end, the new drekkars of Storvik arrive bringing home goods and treasures to bestow on the warriors, artisans and populace of their lands. As they are welcomed by their people and those of her allies Lochmere, so too will they welcome neighboring populace of Dun Carraig for the crown will invest a new set of thegns with the task of guarding, nurturing and overseeing these lands. To celebrate the coming harvest season, the drekkars will rally the warriors once more for great melee event. Join Storvik and Lochmere, for a weekend of fun, fighting and celebration of bountiful summer and spring.

Martial Activities: Battle on the Bay is a great melee event. Viking themed melee scenarios will be run throughout the day. More information to come on Heavy, Rapier, Combat Archery, Target Archery and Thrown Weapons activities.

Arts & Sciences Activities: The drekkars of Storvik and the thegns of Lochmere would challenge their populace with bringing forth their most accomplished artistic works for the appreciation of knowledge and talent.

Edgar Refskegg invites you to a mead tasting and sampling of his creations. With examples of traditional mead, melomel, and metheglin, these drinks are sure to please. He will answer questions regarding the history of mead and brewing methods.

Cost Notes: Cutoff for preregistration is 8/26/16. The above prices are for preregistration. Prices at the gate for Adult WITH a Member Discount will be $15.00 and Adult WITHOUT a Member Discount will be $20.00. Feast and camping will be $10 and $5 at the gate.

Site:Patuxent River Park (aka Croom Park) 16000 Croom Airport Road Upper Marlboro, Maryland The site opens at 4 pm Friday and closes at 11 am Sunday.

Site Restrictions:  Dogs are welcome, but must be leashed at all times. Please clean up after your pet. At this time, please direct all field and camping space requests to the Event Steward. Please include CAMPING SPACE - BATTLE ON THE BAY in email subject line.

Feast Information: A Viking feast containing a delicious array of artfully prepared meats, vegetables and sweets will be prepared for by the Lady Naila al- Zarqa\'. A Viking Feast:

1st course:

Barley bread
Butter
cheese
smoked fish and/or corned beef

2nd course:

honey-herb chicken
spinach and leeks
apple frumenty

3rd course:

roasted pork w/ apples
roasted root veggies with honey

4th course:

jams
skyr (dairy product similar to yogurt)

Turn SLIGHT RIGHT onto OLD CRAIN HWY. Turn LEFT onto CROOM STATION RD. Turn LEFT onto CROOM RD/ MD-382. Turn LEFT onto CROOM AIRPORT RD. End at 16000 Croom Airport Rd Upper Marlboro, MD 20772-8395 (Note: While on Croom Airport Rd. do NOT turn left at any point.)
