Sacred Stone
The Barony of Sacred Stone proudly hosts a weekend of Roman and Byzantine revelry including a great mythological Quest in honor of our new Monarchs. The format will require knowledge of the history and mythology of Rome and will provide entertainment to a broad section of Atlantia’s citizens. Details may be found on the Coronation website, http://coronation.atlantia.sca.org to assist your preparations.
Site: Betsy-Jeff Penn 4-H Center, 804 Cedar Lane, Reidsville, NC 27320. Site opens at 7 PM Friday, April 6 and closes at 10 AM on Sunday, April 8.
Restrictions: Pets permitted only on a leash. Fires allowed in only designated areas (pre-existing fire pits). You may bring stoves and the like for cooking. However, no food may be cooked or prepared in the cabins. Swim in the lake at your own risk, no lifeguard is on duty. Alcohol is permitted on site for those over the age of 21. Please be prepared to take your empties and trash home with you. It is advisable if you have a cart to bring it with you for loading and unloading, as parking directly by the cabins is prohibited.
Martial Activities: Armored combat will include an open field for pickups and melee scenarios including a resurrection melee tied to the Mythological Quest. The Rapier field will run melee scenarios based on Roman themes. Archers will enjoy a novelty shoot based on famous archery challenges in mythology. Please consult the website for details and additional martial activities.
A&S Activities: Tempore Atlantia will highlight items from prior to 1000 AD. Other competitions include Best Roman or Byzantine clothing and accessory and Best Use of a Medusa or Gorgon. Additionally, in honor of His Majesty, the cooks of the Kingdom are challenged to create dishes from Roman or Byzantine culture.
Feast: Their Majesties will preside over the Palantine Hall where Lady Magdalena la Rosa will serve a multiple course feast for $8 per seat. Their Excellencies of Sacred Stone will preside over the Prefecture where Lady Graciela Esperanza de Sevilla will provide a an expansive one course meal for $5 per seat. Seating is limited in both halls. Please pre-reserve. Additionally, a meal plan including a light Friday supper, Saturday breakfast and lunch may be reserved for an additional fee of $6. NMS Surcharge of $3/person will apply without proof of membership. Children 6 to 12 years of age: Daytrip $5, Onsite tent/pavilion $8 All children under the age of 5 are guests of the Barony. Children of any age occupying a cabin bed $14.
Cabins have their own showers and bathrooms. Cabins are available with 2, 4, or 8 beds.
Cabin space is limited to 208 and these are expected to fill up quickly. Those day-tripping and tenting are encouraged to pre-register to opitimize gate intake experiences for all. Please consult the website for recommended hotels convenient to site (less than 6 mi.)

Please make your checks payable to Barony of Sacred Stone, SCA Inc. Those wishing to reserve for the same cabin should specify a group name on your reservation form; full payment for group is preferred so that correct cabin size can be determined. Directions:
From I-77 Take I-85N. At Exit #120 merge onto I-85BusN/I-40W. This becomes I-85BusN mile marker #33. *** Take Exit #39 US-29N/US-70E/US-220N onto North O'Henry Blvd. [US-29N] towards Reidsville. Continue on US-29N for about 24 miles. At the US-158/NC-14 exit, turn left toward Reidsville/Eden/Yanceyville. Follow NC-14 N for 3.4 miles. Turn left onto Salem Church Rd, go 1.4 miles and turn right onto Cedar Lane. The camp will be on the right.
From I-95 Take I-40E/I-85S. At Exit #131 take I40E/I-85BusS into Greensboro; on I-85BusS this is mile marker #44. Continue 5 miles to Exit #39 and follow directions above from ***.
