Feast of Saint Andrews

Tear-Sea's Shore

Come down to the Canton of Tear Sea's Shore for a day of fighting, fun and feasting for the annual Feast of St. Andrew. This will be a lovely event to celebrate the holiday season and what better way than to spend it with your SCA family.

Martial Activities: A full day of fighting is planned. Three rounds of fighting. The First round is Mass Weapon and shield in the tradition of the Scots. Extra points will be given for use of anything other than a sword. The Second round will be Great Weapon and the Third round will be Pole Arm. The Best all around winner will be the Champion of St. Andrew.

Arts & Sciences Activities: Because St. Andrew is the patron Saint of fishermen, Scotland, Russia and Greece, the open A&S competition will offer extra points for any entry that relates to one or more of these themes. Documentation is not required but extra points are awarded for documentation

Cost:

Site Fee $7.00 Adult $5.00 Child 7-17

Feast $8.00 all 7 and above

Children under 7 are guests of the Barony

Feast: Feast will be prepared by Lady Teagon de Moreton and includes Scottish favorites. Please send dietary concerns to nitefall3@earthlink.net

Site: Legion Hall, 10 John Street, Harleyville, SC 29448.

Site opens at 9:00 A.M. and closes at 11:00 P.M.

Scheduled event for the day are as follows:

10:30 Mol table opens, armor inspection and authorizations begin

11:00 A&S opens

11:15 combat begins

12:30-1:30 Lunch Tavern opens

3:00 A&S closes

5:00 court

6:00 feast

8:00 Bardic begins

Site Restrictions: This is a wet site, please use period containers. No fires. Pets on leashes only.

Merchanting: Merchants are welcome please send pavilion foot print information to the Event Steward so that field location can be arranged.

Directions:
Take your best route to I-26 exit 177 towards Harleyville. Go about 1 mile and turn left on to highway 278 east. Go about ½ mile and turn right on John Street just past the railroad tracks. SCA signs will be posted.
