A Gathering of Guilds
(2009-01-17 - Site opens at 11 AM & Closes at 9 PM)
Lochmere
As Winter tightens its grip on the land, our attentions turn to the Arts and Sciences, to occupy us indoors until the return of warmer weather. The Baron and Baroness of Lochmere invite the Artisans of Atlantia and abroad to a Gathering of Guilds, and hope to encourage marvelous collaborations between the various arts. Their Excellencies will be choosing their Arts and Sciences Champion, and other displays, competitions, and classes will be organized. All are welcome to come, display their works, and mayhap learn a new skill! Website: http://lochmere.atlantia.sca.org/mid2009.php
Arts & Sciences Activities: In addition to the Baronial A&S Champion Competition, the six 'Great Guilds' will each be hosting displays, classes, and competitions. The 'Guilds' are:
Craftsman's Guild (Woodworking, Leatherworking, etc.)
Gilded Arts (Calligraphy, Illumination, Painting, etc.)
Performance Arts (Music, Singing, Acting, etc.)
Fiber Arts (Weaving, Spinning, Sewing, Embroidery, etc.)
Culinary Arts (Cooking, Brewing, Medicinal, etc.)
Martial Arts (Period Styles, Armory, Weapon-making, etc.)
Each Guild has a Guild-Head; please see the event website for their contact information. The theme for the Baronial A&S Championship is 'Cooperation Between the Guilds.' Any entry must be linked (even tenuously) to something done/used by a different 'Guild.' (For example, a 'Gilded Arts' entry could be an illuminated piece of music for the 'Performance Arts'; a Craftsman could make a pell for the Martial Guild, etc.)
