It\'s October 1420, a few years after the English victory at Agincourt, and one year since the murder of the late duke of Burgundy, John the Fearless, by the French dauphin. To the city of Troyes, controlled by Phillip the Good, the current duke, comes England\'s King Henry V to treat with the French crowns. With Burgundian, English, and French men-at-arms jostling elbows in the city\'s taverns, Baroness Martelle von Charlottenburg of Bright Hills hopes the tensions do not spill over in the festivities she will host at her nearby manor.
