Flight of the Falcon: Tournament Day in a Medieval Town

Open to the Public -- As a new day begins, our town awakes to its daily barrage of life in the streets. Artisans and vendors ready their displays for the townspeople, competitors and tourney-goers. From miles away, visitors flock to see what the day’s festivities will bring. As the day unfolds, all can discover treasures for the eyes, ears and palate. Some visitors bring business; some come to watch and cheer! Everyone has a wonderful time!

Great for newcomers, this event focuses on activities that might have occurred in a small medieval town on tournament day. Townspeople and visitors share the sights, sounds and smells during a typical day. It costs nothing to look, aka, there is no admission fee.

Martial Activities:  Armored Combat (aka, Heavy Fighting) - a \"round robin\" fighting tournament (best 2 out of 3) followed by a German barrier competition (gauntlets required to participate in barrier)

Site:  Camp Sertoma, 155 Camp Sertoma Rd, Dallas, NC 28034-7760 (Off NC Hwy 321 between Charlotte and Hickory) Site opens 8am, closes 9pm.

Site Restrictions:  Site closed to vehicles after 10am. Drop off at the gate. For disabled access, please contact the Event Steward in advance. No alcohol. Pets permitted, but must be on a 6\' lead (maximum) at all times. No fires.

Feast Information:  Donation requested of $7 per person (80 person maximum)*: · Adults · Children ages 4 to 10 There are limited feast spaces available. Please contact our reservationist to guarantee your seat. Please make checks payable to SCA Inc., Canton of Aire Faucon.

*As customary for this event, feasts spots may be sponsored for newcomers so they can fully enjoy the day. Sponsors are welcome to pay for one more feast spot than they need to contribute.
