The Barony of Bright Hills welcomes all to Trial by Fire - ABCs (Archers, Bards and Cooks) featuring the shoot for the Lochmere Arrow. Try your skill at archery, bardcraft, cooking or poetry. Archers will vie for the treasured Lochmere Arrow. Bards will entertain around the fire. Cooks will face the flames to create the finest main courses, side dishes, grains and desserts. And yes, there will be a poetry competition sponsored by the Poeta Atlantiae, Lord Ishmael Baleinier! Sunday brings classes for all to enjoy.

Cost Notes: Camping is included in the site fee. There is a potluck dinner instead of a feast.

Site: Baltimore Bowmen, Graham Memorial Park, 10301 Harford Road, Glen Arm, MD 21057. Site opens at 5 pm Friday, August 31, and closes 10 a.m. Monday, September 3, 2018.

Site Restrictions: This event is in a Maryland state park and all rules pertaining to state parks in Maryland apply. No alcohol allowed on range. Dogs must be on a leash and unruly dogs may be required to leave site. Owners are responsible for cleaning up after their dogs. Please remove and take all firewood from field. Park in designated areas. Ground fires are not allowed but fire pits are welcome.

Feast Information: Due to the cooking competition, there is no feast. Instead, you may participate in the potluck dinner by bringing enough food to serve 8 or by competing in the cooking competition.

Directions:

From the South – Take I-95 to I-695 toward Towson. In about 2 miles, take exit 31B, Harford Road. Follow Harford Rd about 2 miles (3 traffic lights). Continue on Harford Road down the hill about 1/4 mile. Turn right at the sign and follow road thru to the second gate.

From the West (I-70) - Take I-70 to Baltimore, then take the 695 exit towards Towson. Then follow directions from the South.

From the North - Take I-95 South to I- 695 towards Towson. Follow I-695 about 2 miles to exit 31B, Harford Rd. Follow Harford Rd about 2 ¼ miles. Look for signs on the right. Turn right and follow road thru to the second gate.
