Battles of Britain

The College of Yarnvid would like to welcome you to their annual event. Come and join us for a stress free day of activities ranging from marshaled to A&S. We will be holding tournaments in Heavy Combat, Rapier, and Thrown Weapons as well as having a kid friendly shoot. If fighting isnít your idea of a good time there will also be a A&S competition featuring best use of the British Isle theme. The day is festivities will conclude with a Pot Luck feast featuring dishes brought by those in attendance.

Martial Activities:  Martial activities will start in the morning and include tournaments for Heavy Combat, Rapier, Archery and Thrown Weapons. Prizes will be awarded to the winners of each.

Arts & Sciences Activities: A contest will be held and prizes given for the best British Isle themed object. Display space is available should you simply wish to show a current work or one in progress, however competition pieces are required to have accompanying documentation.

Site:  Joe H. Paulette Memorial Park  16565 Five Forks Road Amelia, VA 23002.  Site opens 9am, closes 9pm.

Site Restrictions:  No fires, pets or alcohol.

Feast Information:  Feast will consist of a Pot Luck meal at the end of the day and you are encouraged to bring a dish to feed between 10 and 15 people. Please also have an accompanying index card with you dish listing all ingredients used.

Directions:  

From East: Best route to Route 288. Go West on 360 (towards Amelia). Turn left on Business Route 360 East (Goodies Bridge Rd). There will be an International Truck store on right. ** Turn Right on Otterburn Rd (Rt 614). Go 1/2 mile to stop sign. Go straight (becomes Route 38/Five Forks Road ) for about 1/2 mile. Joe Paulette Park will be on the right just before you reach Tom Scott Park.

From West -- Best route to 360 East. Turn right on Business Route 360 East (Goodies Bridge Rd). Follow directions from **.
