The Wild Hunt
(2019-10-12 - Site opens at 9 & Closes at 6)
Ponte Alto
Description: As the beauty of the autumn deepens, as the air cools and shadows grow longer, the Huntsman's horn sounds yet again, calling all to beware - beware or be assimilated by the Wild Hunt!
Once more, the Fey and Fell Master of the Hunt is coming to claim his lands, and attempt to capture - through challenge or games of skill or chance - all those who trespass upon his favor. Will you becomes another of the Master's loyal hunters? Or will you, through skill or luck, escape the clutches of the Wild Hunt?
Come join our Barony of Ponte Alto as we experience an exciting day of Fighting, Arts, Games and Challenges. Last year there was a prize for those who escaped the Hunt, but this year, there will also be a prize for the most successful Hunters, who assimilate the most people INTO the Hunt after they must join the Hunt themselves. So if you lose a challenge and join the magnificent Hunt, you may still earn renown, challenging all who still run free!
Martial Activities: Stay tuned for heavy combat and rapier scenarios
Arts & Sciences Activities: Celtic Knotwork: Bring your best Irish style knotwork art, whether it's made in textiles, on a costume, with wire, or painted illumination!
Show off your Best Fix for a Mistake in our second competition. Bring any projects from the past or present where you really messed up, and impress us with how you tried to make it right (even if the fix didn't work)!
Autumn Food Fight! Bring your best cool weather cooking to add to our harvest table. We will be judged in three categories: Huntsman's Fare, Vegetables, and Desserts. Tell us how your entry fits into the category you choose. Feel free to be creative.
Bardic Fyt: It's the perfect time of year for spooky stories, especially those that tell of lucky - or unlucky - dealings with the Fair Folk. All who enter will be rewarded, and those who spellbind us with the most medieval of performances (no mention of the modern, no papers in hand) will gain special favor.
