in a day and it is our 24th birthday
so come see how we make the
magnificent imagery found in these
beautiful books come to life. We

Arts & Sciences Activities: A&S Competition to Choose the New A&S Baronial Champion \"Books of Hours\" TBD
\"Book of Hours\" Scroll Competition The theme for this competition is quite simple but has a lot of room for creativity. You must base your design on a Book of Hours. It can be any Book of Hours. The caveat is, the scroll must be done in miniature. This means that the scroll must be done at a maximum of 5\"x7\". There will be two categories:
Baronial: This entry will be for an illumination only. This will then be donated to the Barony of Bright Hills to be used as a scroll blank.
Kingdom: This entry will be for a backlogged scroll and will be for the illumination and calligraphy. Backlog assignments must be obtained by emailing the Backlog Deputy at mistress.martelvonc[at]gmail.com
Bardi c Bear Pit, Children\'s crafts, Book of hours themed competitions and displays. classes on pearl and silk knotting ($2 material cost) and easy period earrings ($3 material cost).

Site Restrictions: No smoking within any buildings on site. Service animals only - no pets.

Directions:
From East and North - Take your best route to I-695 (Baltimore Beltway and follow this to exit #19 / I-795. Follow I-795 West +/- 9 miles to MD rte 30/Hanover Pike. Turn Left onto Rte 30 and follow it 14 +/- miles to Manchester. In Manchester turn Right onto York Street and follow it several blocks. The site will be on your Right. Look for the curved stone Gateway.
From West and parts of D.C. and No. VA.- Take your best rte to I-70 and exit # 68 / Mt Airy / MD rte 27. Follow MD rte 27 North until it deadends in Manchester, MD. Turn right and go several blocks to the next traffic light and turn Left onto York St. Follow York St. several blocks. The site will be on your Right. Look for the curved stone gateway. Event opens at 10:00 AM and closes at 10:00 PM. Setup begins at 8:00 AM and Merchants and staff may check in at 9:00 AM.
