Directions:
Take your easiest route to I-40 heading to Old Fort, North Carolina.  Take exit 73 toward Old Fort, NC.  Turn north on to Catawba Ave, heading toward the town of Old Fort.  Drive for approx .4 miles and turn right on to Railroad St.  Follow Railroad St until it connects with Lackey Town Rd, and turn left on to Lackey Town Rd (Approx .2 miles).  Follow Lackey Town Rd to Bud Hogan Drive (.5 miles). Turn left onto Bud Hogan Drive.  You will see Davidson's Fort ahead of you.

No site restrictions! 
This is a wet site!  
This site also welcomes well behaved, leashed dogs!  No need to ask, just bring your pup if you'd like!

Accessibility:
This is a very primitive site with no paved walkways.  All terrain is grassed lawn or gravel road, and may not be suitable for most mobility devices.  Restrooms are portalets, and while there are nearby flushing toilets it is a short walk to get to them (located in the park behind the event site).

Cancelation and Refund Policy: Event refunds must be provided as follows: A. Cancellations received at least 7 days prior to the start of the event will be refunded once the funds have cleared and may be processed at the Baronial Exchequer’s earliest convenience regardless of the profit or loss of the event. B. No refunds will be given if the event does not make a profit. C. No refunds will be given to those who have checked in with gate. D. The Baronial Exchequer must receive refund requests in writing no later than five business days after the close of the event. Exceptions may be made by authorization of the Exchequer in consultation with the Event Steward and the Seneschal. The Exchequers email address is: exchequer@hawkwood.atlantia.sca.org ; E. All refunds must be paid by check and must not be issued until the event receipts have been received and all reservation checks have been deposited. No individual refund may be issued until that reservation check has cleared.

General Activities

Martial Activities:
Hawkwood Baronial Birthday will feature a chance to participate in an illustrious Titan's Tourney for both Rapier and Heavy fighters! Both Heavy and Rapier fighters will be participating in their category in a Round-Robin style tournament. Additionally, for rapier fighters a bar brawl is planned, and possible extras depending on turnout.  Heavy fighters can look forward to a "Grand Melee" during the day!


A&S:
COMPETITIONS
"Fit for a Baroness"
A 'bring-your-best' competition where anything goes (as long as it impresses our baroness)!

"The Great Birthday Bake-off" 
Prepare an SCA-era party dish (does not necessarily have to be baked!). Documentation requested.

"Sip, Sip, Hooray!"
You should never show up to a party without a gift, and in Hawkwood we like ours bubbly! Cordials, meads, beers - we're not picky!

"You're Invited!" 
Design an SCA-era invitation or recreate one from an extant example. Documentation requested.

Baker's Dozen Largesse Tournament - Prepare 13 items for largesse. Winner receives 1 of each entry!


ACTIVITIES
"Decorate Thy Birthday Crown"
Make and take party hats for all ages! Crafty supplies and base hat provided, but feel free to bring your own flair!

"Celebrate Your Progress" 
A noncompetitive open display for Works in Progress"

Additionally there will be a bardic circle after feast.

Feast:
Delight in an authentic Moroccan feast, cooked by the fantastic Mistress Annora Hall!  
Remove 1:  Cucumber-Onion-Pepper Salad Olive Salad Orange-Carrot Salad Beet Salad Kefta (lamb kabob) Yogurt Sauce 
Remove 2: Fava Bean Soup Chicken and Artichoke stew Khobz (bread) 
Remove 3: Lamb with dates and honey Mallow and collards w-aromatic herbs 
Remove 4: Ghoriba (Almond cookie) Jben (cheese) Dried Fruit
Allergens / sensitivities include orange flower water, lemon juice, orange juice, cilantro, gluten (bread and cookie), almond (cookies only), dairy (limited to yogurt and cheese), onions, cinnamon.
Feast is limited to 60 seats.

Other:
Site is entirely outdoors. It is dog friendly, wet, and welcoming to "messy" A&S displays. Site is somewhat primitive and may not be accessible to those with mobility requirements. It is flat ground but is grassy. No Handicapped parking, but the parking is very close to the event area. Please see our website for full details about activities!
