Description:
Pilgrimages were arduous undertakings in the Middle Ages.  There were many reasons to go on a pilgrimage:  to atone for your sins, to honor the memory of a loved one, escape persecution, or simply because all the cool kids were doing it.  Failure to extend hospitality to pilgrims was considered a grievous sin!  Please join the Barony of Lochmere as we extend hospitality to all pilgrims on their way to 3 major pilgrimage sites:  Santiago de Compostela (Spain), Rome (Italy), and Jerusalem (Middle East).  Regardless of your destination or level of piety, there will be feasting, dancing, singing, classes, games, Arts and Sciences displays and competitions more than sufficient to nourish your body and your mind!

General Activities

Martial Activities:

A&S:
Competitions

Fiber Arts:
From the clothes they wore to the bags they carried and beyond, fiber arts in all forms played an integral role in a pilgrim’s journey. Create a fiber-based item that a pilgrim would have used or encountered on their journey to or from one of the celebrated pilgrimage cities of Santiago, Rome, or Jerusalem. In your documentation, include the time period and primary pilgrimage your fiber item is from. This competition will be populace choice but 10 points will be added for each pilgrimage your item can be specifically linked to.

Food & Beverage:
Traveling on pilgrimage can be grueling work and food is needed to not only sustain the body but also the spirits. Provide a food or non-alcoholic beverage a pilgrim might have had with them or encountered on their pilgrimage. This will be populace judged so an ingredient list is required to be clearly visible with your item. Provide whatever tasting implements (little cups, plates, napkins, etc) needed. 10 points will be added to your total if documentation is provided tying your item to a specific pilgrimage route to Santiago, Jerusalem, or Rome.
