Midwinter's Tale
(2007-01-20 - Site opens at 8:00 AM & Closes at 9:30 PM)
Border Vale Keep
The days may be cold but there is always a warm welcome at the Shire of Border Vale Keep's almost-annual Midwinter's Tale. Help us while away the longer winter hours by sharing your friendship, your skills, and your knowledge.
If you have more than 20 minutes' experience in any area (A&S or Martial), please be willing to share what you know (and what you have learned NOT to do.) It can be on any topic. A list of useful sources and how to find them also is a good idea. There will be no scheduled classes - just casual discussions as the spirit moves you. Tell us (via email, or on the chart at Troll) what information you're willing to discuss (feel free to create as long a list as you wish) and we'll post a list of the topics so others will know whom to go to.
Bring period board- and indoor-games, and any portable projects or works-in-progress. We'll also have dancing after feast, both European and Middle Eastern. So bring your dumbeks and dancing shoes.
Martial Activities: Heavy, rapier & archery
Arts & Sciences Activities: Think 'cold' - very cold! Competitions will be in two categories: (1) anything made of wool (for keeping warm); and (2) bardic arts: anything related to winter or cold weather.
