Join the Barony of Black Diamond as she celebrates her thirty third year and enjoy feasting and fellowship.

Ice Castle 2018 Schedule

8:30 to 9 Auths. and pick ups
9 to 11 Heavy - chiv tourney
Rapier - 3 man melee (Teams determined by chance)
9 youth fighting starts
10am A&S Drop off opens, Fiber solar in small A&S area
Noon - 1:30 pm open dancing and open dance band - main hall
11 - 1 Heavy - 3 man melee
Rapier - Honor tourney
2pm Culture Clash Fashion Show- main hall
2:15ish - 2:45ish call for performers following the Culture Clash Costume Contest during judges\' deliberations- main hall
3:30 pm - court open bardic for all (singers, musicians, storytellers, etc. and listeners)
If weather is nice and there is interest dance may move around wherever comfortable
Youth quest in the afternoon, please see marshal for this

Arts & Sciences Activities: THE CULTURE CLASH COSTUME CONTEST
Ever thought about wearing your Viking garb with your French cap? How about your 15th century Italian Ren with your 10th century shoes? Here\'s your chance! Wear as many articles of clothing from different cultures and SCA time periods as possible. Yes, all at the same time! Strut your stuff at the 2pm CULTURE CLASH FASHION SHOW to win. Entrants must provide documentation at troll by 1:30pm. It\'s best to write it up at home and bring it to the event. Documentation will be read to the audience, so make it fun. Documentation must include:
Your name,
Each article of clothing with its culture and time period,
Anything to aid the judges (humor, stories about why you are wearing all these different clothes, etc.) Please do not give us more than what can be easily read in three minutes as you walk the runway. Prizes go to the top two models: Replica Nishapur, Persian pottery handmade by Azza al Shirazi )Zoe Kuhn Williams).

The Dirty Dozen

Artisans will create 12 items of largess( small trinkets or gifts to be handed out by their Excellencies to the populace) and the winner will receive one of each entry as a prize.

Fiber Solar- come bring your weaving, spinning embroidery or other fiber arts and chat with artisans through the day.

Poetry Contest

Baroness Maaline is sponsoring a poetry contest; The Theme is \"To Dream of Winter\". The prize is a ceramic Dragon tile. All poetry forms welcome! Documentation not required but is a plus!

It’s a castle made of Ice!

The challenge is to take something that looks like it is out of the movie Frozen, and make it historically accurate! This competition is especially friendly for the youth and is open to all ages. Theme is Norse culture, ice and castles.

Scribal arts Display

Contribute to the Kingdom and create a scroll blank to be donated to the Kingdom. Any style of scroll is welcome and the scrolls will be admired before they are presented to their Majesties in court.
