Atlantia
O! for a Muse of fire, that would ascend the brightest heaven of invention! A kingdom for a stage, princes to act and monarchs to behold the swelling scene. Let all the peoples of Atlantia stoke a fire in their own hearts and come together to witness firsthand the pageantry and suspense unique to Crown Tournament. Noble Atlantian fighters will cross swords upon the fields of Agincourt until only one remains. Stiffen the sinews, summon up the blood, disguise fair nature with hard-favored rage; then lend the eye a terrible aspect and claim the throne of Atlantia!Website: crown.atlantia.sca.org
Martial Activities: THE TOURNAMENT: But when the blast of war blows in our ears, then imitate the action of the tiger. Nothing matches the pageantry and pomp of a Crown Tournament! His Royal Majesty, King William, commands that the tourney format shall be a double elimination wherein the fighters will bring their best weapons style. The final round of the tournament will be best 2 out 3, still bringing your best. Then call we this the field of Agincourt. For information about reserving field space for the Tournament (space is limited and contestants receive priority), please contact Lord Vincenzo d\'Este (Bradley Mills, 704-314-6240; vincenzo.de.este[AT]gmail)
Arts & Sciences Activities: THE ARTS AND LEISURE: In peace there\'s nothing so becomes a man as modest stillness and humility. In honor of Crispin Crispianus, upon whose feast day Agincourt was fought, the A&S themes will be Leather, Largesse, Look and Listen, with prizes awarded for Leather-worked items, the largesse items, heraldic display, and processional pomp. The largesse competition is a Dirty Dozen Donation Derby! Items should be blue and/or white. Entrants create 12 items suitable for largesse, such as 12 needle books, or 12 hats, or 12 rings. Items need not be documented. Judging will be done by the beads method. Members of the populace will vote for their favorite entry! You may enter more than once! (Note: two entries means 24 items). The winner of the competition is the gentle with the most beads in their cup and they receive one item from each of the other entries. So 12 entries means the winner gets 11 prizes! The remaining items entered into the competition w ill be donated to Their Majesties as largesse. The game’s afoot! While all attention falls to the Crown contest for the finals, there will be a wide variety of pastimes throughout the event up until then, including croquet, bocce, quoits, and kubb. For more information about the A&S activities, please contact the Honorable Lady Murienne l\'aloiere (Nikole Harrington, 336-899-9788; dragonfly78[AT]gmail.com).
