Der Barony von Lochmere begrüßt alle

A day of feasting and merriment awaits you in our hall on the 27th of January 2007 at St Martin's-in-the-Field Episcopal Church in Severna Park, Maryland.

Our Baron and Baroness call on all artisans to come display their wares. From those of their subjects, they will be choosing their champion, but competitions and displays are open to all. In addition, we plan to have gaming, singing, instrumental music, as well as activities for our littlest ones.

Arts & Sciences: Our theme this year (in case it wasn't obvious from the greeting) is High German. Our current champion, Lady Margery Winterbourne, has sponsored competitions and displays in the following categories:
- a competition for German alcoholic beverages: beers, wines, meads, cordials, etc. All entries must have a list of ingredients as there will be a lot of tasting. Documentation is recommended but not required.
- a competition for the best German article of clothing. This can be a cape, girdle, an entire outfit, shoes or any other bit of clothing or accessory that the proper High German Lord or Lady would wear/carry.
- a competition for non-alcoholic liquids such as vinegars, tinctures, etc. More on this will be advertised via the our web page and list. - a general display (not limited to our German theme) . Works in progress are very welcome, from Novice to Peer level; woodworking, jewelry, illumination, armor, leatherworking, lampwork beads, weaving, knitting, garb…..whatever you are working on, we want to help you show it off. This will be strictly a display, and although documentation is always encouraged, a simple note as to where you got the idea would be enough, it is not required.

Feast:
As our feast will be presented on a sideboard throughout the day, it is not possible to have separate on-board and off-board options. All attendees are on-board. That being said, our excellent head cook, Lady Gwynneth MacDonaugh has planned a wonderful assortment of German delicacies to tempt your palatte. A full listing of the day's delights, will be available through the Lochmere Baronial website (http://www.lochmere.atlantia.sca.org) by the 1st of December 2006. If you have any dietary concerns, please direct them to Lady Gwynneth.
