The Vikings are coming! German mercenaries are coming! No Vikings, no….no….you choose! Come welcome the new Baron and Baroness of Stierbach in a fun filled day and show off you love of either the Viking Culture, the German Landknechte Culture, or both! Awards given in all disciplines for the “winning” group and a special prize will be awarded by a secret judge for the participant showing off their chosen culture the best. After spending the day welcoming the new Baron and Baroness and playing, a feast will be given in honor of the new Baron and Baroness and the attending Royalty. Seating will be limited so preregistration is encouraged.

Martial Activities: Armored, rapier, and archery events planned.

Arts & Sciences Activities: This Baronial Investiture is a grand time to show off your Arts and Sciences! We will be having competitions, displays, and hopefully classes! Bring your bling to show it off! Teach others to make fantastic crafts! Come and learn how do do things!

Displays
This year we will be having 2 display opportunities!
1. Static Display - Bring whatever you\'re working on, let us see your art, your science! (Documentation encouraged, but not required.)
2. Peer Review - More information coming!

Three competitions!
1. Dirty Dozen Largesse - Make 12 of anything that can be given as largesse by either the Baron and Baron or the King and Queen. This one is anonymous, so if you make documentation, please remember no names. Winner will get 1 of each item and possibly a little something extra.....
2. Scroll Blank Competition - The Scrivener Royal would love some blanks! Please remember to leave a 1/2\" - 1\" border the whole way around your illumination and to document if there are any toxic materials used. Documentation with pictures of the exemplar are highly encouraged. Winner will get a prize and the Scrivener Royal will get blanks! Win - win!
3. German Landsknect Competition - More information to come!

Classes!
We are hoping to offer at least 2 - 4 classes at the event, each lasting about an hour! If you would like to volunteer to teach a class, please contact me at arts@stierbach.org with your modern name, SCA name, name of your class, blurb about what you\'re teaching, if there is a class size limit/kit cost/needed materials to bring with for it.

Cost Notes: Pre-registration must be postmarked by 9 June 2017 to secure a feast spot. All reservation postmarked after will be held and recorded when participant trolls into the event. $ 36.00 Family cap for site fees only not feast fees or Non-member surcharge.

Site: Fauquier County Fair Grounds, 6209 Old Auburn Rd., Warrenton, VA 20187. Site opens 8:30am, closes 9pm.

Site Restrictions: Site Restrictions: The site is DRY. Leashed dogs are permitted on site and must be accompanied by owners at all times.

Lunch provided by Grimmsfield (pre-registration only.) More information to come.

Merchanting Information: Merchants are welcome. Please contact the Event Steward prior to 9 June 2017.

There is limited room inside the hall for merchants to have a 10X10 space. There is unlimited room outside for pavilions.

No separate merchant fee. Merchants must pay standard site fees (non-member if applicable) and feast fees, if applicable, for all attending personnel.

From the East (Washington DC): From the Beltway, take Route 66 west to exit 43a - Route 29 south for about 14 miles to Meetze Rd east, that is a left from the ramp, to Old Auburn Rd take a left the site is less than a mile on the right.

From the South (Richmond): Take best route to I95 North. To exit 133 - Route 17 north to Route 29/15/17 north to Meetze Rd east, that is a left from the ramp, to Old Auburn Rd take a left the site is less than a mile one the right.

From the West (Interstate 81): Take best route onto I81 to Route 66 east to exit 28 - Route 17 south to Route 29/15/17 south to Meetze Rd east, that is a right from the ramp, to Old Auburn Rd take a left the site is less than a mile one the right.
