Flight of the Falcon
(2011-08-20 - Site opens at 9:30 AM & Closes at 9:00 PM)
Aire Faucon

What is an event for a newcomer that isn’t just for newcomers?  This is!  Please join us especially if you are in that middle spot - you aren\'t quite a newcomer anymore, but certainly don\'t feel like a veteran SCAdian yet.  This is the perfect event for you.  We will have classes - 10 different ones so far, most going on more than one time, so you can try quite a few.  There will be both heavy fighting and rapier fighting.  A&S will be shown to inspire and enlighten.  There will be several competitions and contests.  We will also have a medieval living mini encampment: a Viking tent, a European pavilion, and an amazing Yurt.  There will be children\'s activities! The AMAZING children\'s activities director will be dazzling them with activities. Our Beloved Baron Matsudaira Toshyori and Baroness Sine ni Dheaghaidh have consented to hold court on the hill, so we can experience SCAdian pageantry - a glimpse of the magic of Dream.

To finish our day, we will have a bardic circle around the fire, and we are very lucky, there will be stories and music to relax to. Mistress Dervila, the Royal Bard will delight us with a tale or two, as well as other folk with a story to tell.  Singing will be done, and Master Achbar ibn Ali will be providing a on the doumbek that might inspire you to dance.
