Rogues of Sherwood Forest

The Rogue Robert of Locksley knows as Robin Hood and his men for the crimes of Robbery, Poaching, Kidnapping, and Assault on the Kings Men and Treason. A Shipment of Royal Taxes will be passing through Nottingham Shire. Join the Good Sheriff and Prince John's men in protecting these taxes or be judged an outlaw.

Martial Activities: Heavy – Robin’s men will try to steal the taxes as it pass through Sherwood Forest(Please bring your Bow), then captured outlaws will be executed in town square unless they can be rescued and finally join King Richard or Price John as they fight the throne of England Rapier – Think of the greatest Errol Flynn movie and you has an idea of what in store. Enough said. Archery – An Archery meet has been proclaimed to prove the best bow. Archers will take center stage as they shoot for the Golden Arrow.

Arts & Sciences Activities: There will be a static Arts competition featuring three categories: Items found in a prison; Items of the Bow (Bow, Quivers, Arrows, etc.) and the Poached Stag an Open category featuring the stag (venison recipes, pelts etc.).

There will also be a Bardic Competition featuring songs, poems and stories proclaiming the greatness of Prince John or the Sheriff or the evil deeds of the Robin.

Cost Notes: Tent cost is only $4.00 per adult and $2.00 per children (6-17). Make checks payable to the Canton of Misty Marsh/SCA Inc.

Site: The site is Camp Sandy Ridge, 3681 Girl Scout Rd. Bennellsville, SC 29512.The site opens at 5pm Friday and Closes at 11am on Sunday.

Site Restrictions: The sit is DRY. Sorry no pets.

Feast: There will be no feast; however, the Blue Boar Tavern will be open to benefit the Incipient Canton of Ilses des Diamants.

Merchants: Send any request for merchants to the Event Steward.

Other Information: The fun is not for the fighters alone. There is gold lost in the forest, come help the Sheriff reclaim it from Robin Bandits to claim your reward.

Directions:
From I-95, South/East: Take Exit 193(Hwy 9) towards Bennettsville. In Bennettsville (22.8 miles from I-95) Hwy 9 "bypass" will turn Left for 2 miles, then turn RIGHT for 2 miles. Turn Left at the Huddle House (27.0 miles from I-95) staying on Hwy 9 towards Cheraw. Turn RIGHT on Ebenezer Road (32.5 miles from I-95), where there will be a water tower on your left and a church on your right. Camp Sand Ridge is 3.3 miles on the Right.

From I-95 North In North Carolina: Take exit 14 (Hwy 74) west towards Laurinburg. Approx 26 Miles I 95 take hwy 79 South/west until you reach hwy 9 outside Bennettsville SC. Turn right on Hwy 9 then turn right again at water onto Ebenezer Rd. Camp Sand Ridge is 3.3 miles on Right. From I-20 Take Exit 116 (Hwy 15) North through Hartsville, to Society Hill, in Society Hill follow How 401 towards Bennettsville. Turn Left on Hwy 912 (7 miles north of Society Hill). Continue 8 miles until you reach Hwy 9. Turn Left on Hwy 9 and Right on Ebenezer Rd. with the water tower on your left and the church on your right. The camp is on the RIGHT (3.3 miles).
