Siege of the Black Tower
(2012-03-10 - Site opens at 9:00 AM & Closes at 10:00 PM)

Come and join us for a day of Tournaments, Melees,A&S Classes and Competitions, Pages Academy, a Silent Auction, fun and friendship. There will be a Black Tower Tournament for both heavy weapons and rapier combatants as well as a melee competition for each combat form. Melee combatants must bring a prize to donate to the Treasure Chest in order to participate. All others are encouraged to bring donations as well!

Martial Activities:
 Armored, Rapier and Youth Combat

Arts & Sciences Activities:  Open display of completed works as well as works in progress. Documentation is encouraged. There will be a competition of story-telling! Bards, poets share with us the most wondrous stories, poems, and songs about the Siege of the Black Tower. Site:  Church of the Sacred Heart, New Bohemia Hall, 9300 Community Lane, Petersburg, Virginia  23805. Opens at  9:00 am and closes at 10:00 pm.

Site Restrictions:  Dry Site. No pets.  Hall is handicap accessible.

Other Information:
 Pages Academy will focus on service and what children\'s lives would have been like in the Middle Ages and how they are different today.  Travel back in time and see what work might have been done and what the children did for fun. Play games of olde and see if they have evolved into games of today.

Directions:  

From 95 North AND 95 South: Take Exit 46 (295 N towards Washington), travel approx 1.4 miles to Exit 3A (460 E towards Norfolk), go 0.3 miles **turn right onto Community Lane, then left towards Church Hall. If you go to the traffic light, you went too far.

From 295 South: Take Exit 3 A (460 E towards Norfolk), go 0.4 miles, follow from ** above. From 460 West: Traveling towards Petersburg, go through Disputanta and travel 4.3 miles to first traffic light. Continue on 460 W for 3 miles through a blinking light. After the next light, turn left onto Community Lane before the highway divides.
