Come celebrate the 30th Birthday of the Barony of Marinus with a war! Inspired by the exploits of Elizabeth the 1st and held to determine the fate of Rip Rap Island in the Chesapeake Bay, this event is designed to have fighting, shooting, and fun for everyone, complete with boat combat!Website: http://riprapwar.yolasite.com/
Martial Activities: There will be an assortment of martial activities throughout the day to decide the fate of Rip Rap Island. The Armored and Rapier combatants will have a variety of melee ship battles. Details of the battle scenarios and schedules are posted on the website. Bear Pit tournaments are planned as well so that everyone gets enough fighting! Archery and Youth combat details are posted on the website. Site: Southampton Fairgrounds, 25376 New Market Road, Courtland, VA 23837. The site opens at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, September 8 and closes at 12:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 10.
Site Restrictions: Wet site. No firearms. No pets allowed.
