(2012-02-24 - 2012-02-26 - Site opens at 6 PM & Closes at 11)
Nottinghill Coill
How much trouble can the peers of the barony cause?
Website: http://www.nottinghillcoill.org/birthday
Martial Activities: Heavy-9-Lives Tournament: Skill, Stamina, Strength and Strategy will both play a part in winning this tournament. Each participant will be able to wager one or more of their lives per round. The participant with all of the lives at the end of the tournament is the winner. (Therefore, this COULD take awhile) Sponsor: Countess Kari
Rapier- This will be a multi-part competition to test each combatant\'s chivalry, resourcefulness, versatility and stamina. The winner of each portion will earn one point, for a maximum of 7 points.
Points 1 and 2- Each entrant must create a Token (just one.) The token will be presented at the start of the competition to a gentle who has been a participant in the SCA for 5 years or less and is present at the competition. (Everyone deserves to be fought for at least once!) In case there are insufficient onlookers in the 5-year-and-under category, the sponsors reserve the right to expand the field as they deem appropriate. One point will be awarded for the beauty and quality of the token itself; a second point will be awarded for the excellence of the actual presentation. (Both points to be awarded by decision of the competition\'s sponsors)
The competitions for points 3 through 7 will not necessarily be in the order listed here. All fights are single elimination.
3. Melee: maximum of 8-person teams. 1 point will be awarded to each member of the winning team
4. River or Bridge Battle: Combatants must stay on dry land and avoid falling off the bridge or into the river. You fall, you drown and die
5. Single-handed Weapon: weapon only, no shield
6. Burning Rooftop: \'holes\' suddenly appear in the roof. Step in the hole and you die
7. Swamp Fight: the swamp has swallowed your ability to move easily. Each combatant fights from the knees
Sponsors: Baroness Etain and Dame Morwenna
Archery- "Don\'t Cut the Knot!": The target will be a large knot (Baronial Device). The object will be to shoot into the space between the "cords" tying the knot without "cutting" any of the cords. Scoring will be as follows - Arrow outside the knot and not cutting the cords: 0 points, Arrow in the spaces within the knot and not cutting the cords: 3 points, Arrow cutting the cords: -1 point (Note: A line break onto the cord will not be considered as "cutting" it and will score depending on whether the arrow is inside or outside the knot itself.) Sponsor: Mistress Aidan Morgana Evans and Master Isaac de Hugo
