Know that long ago, in far Finland, the wine crop was threatened by hoards of Grasshoppers. Into the maelstrom of Venter’s difficulty stepped a Giant of a Man, Urho, Mighty Urho, who with his pitchfork chased the evil Grasshoppers from all of Finland. Forever earning him the love and honor due a Finnish Saint...Saint Urho!!! His Heroic deed is actually commemorated the day before St Patrick’s Day (some 2nd rate Irish Saint) and we, the members of House Taivassalama, hold a wondrous medieval tournament in his honor WITH FABULOUS PRIZES. This year we might even have toilets.

Time Table:
10:00-12:00 authorizations (youth and adult)
11:30-12:00 A&S competition (prize awarded at noon)
12:30-13:00 (Div 1 Youth Combat Tournament)
13:00-13:30 (Div 2 Youth Combat Tournament)
14:00-16:00 (Heavy Bear Pit)

Martial Activities: Heavy Tournament (2 hour bear pit) Div 1 Youth Combat tournament (30 min bear pit) Div 2 Youth Combat tournament (30 min bear pit)

Arts & Sciences Activities: Best use of grasshopper motif in a dessert

Take I-85 to exit 76 toward Salisbury (Exit 76 puts you on E. Innes Street.). Take E. Innes to Boundary Street (Between the Office Depot and Post office). Turn left on Boundary. The park will be on your left on the corner of Boundary and Old Concord Road. It is about a quarter mile form E. Innes St. (you can see the playground and Pavilion from the Road.)
