A magnificent day is coming where will welcome our new King Dietrich von Stroheim, a fierce warrior and leader and his bold Queen Thora Heri, the strength and beauty of Valhalla. It will be a day filled with activities honoring our new majesties with fighting, feasting and celebration.Website: http://coronation.atlantia.sca.org/ Martial Activities: A Valhalla Tourney will be held for heavy and rapier fighting, where the slain will be selected by Valkyries to fight on a team for Odin or Freya in a field battle after the tourneys are complete. There will be a King’s Cut and Thrust Champion Tourney where the final combatants will face his majesty to determine the winner. The gods and goddesses of Norse mythology will be represented on the archery range.
Arts & Sciences Activities: 1. Cultural Atlantia: This is a new competition that will be held at Coronations. Their Highnesses have requested that we pay homage to the Odin and Freya with our arts and sciences. Use creativity and ingenuity to create and document an entry relating to these deities. The winner of the competition will receive a reward. The judging will use new forms and criteria which can be found at:http://moas.atlantia.sca.org/tempore.htm/
Poeta Atlantiae: On April 2nd at Spring Coronation the competition for the new Poeta Atlantiae will be held. You must write two (2) poems in documentable medieval form. One poem should honor our new queen and the second should honor our new king. Documentation is required as well as a letter of intent stating what you wish to accomplish as Poeta. You must be present to enter.

Cost Notes: PayPal Event Registration Instructions: The PayPal registration form is available on Atlantia.sca.org under \"Events in Atlantia\". To register for the event please complete the online form. Once you have submitted the form, please allow up to 48 hours for the invoice to be created. You will receive the invoice directly from PayPal. Once you have received the invoice from PayPal you will follow the link in the email to pay the invoice via credit card, e-check, or PayPal account. You will have up to 7days to pay the invoice. Please do NOT send money to PayPal without receiving an invoice.

Site: Makemie Woods Camp and Conference Center. 3700 Roper\'s Church Road, Lanexa, VA 23089. Site opens 4 pm Friday, closes 11 am Sunday.
Site Restrictions: No pets. Alcohol is permitted for those over 21. ALL ORIGINAL CONTAINER MUST BE PACKED OUT. Trash bags will be provided at Gate.

Directions:
Makemie Woods is ideally located in Lanexa, VA, just off Interstate 64 between Williamsburg and Richmond, VA. Many guests take advantage of the local attractions as we are less than 30 minutes from Colonial Williamsburg, Busch Gardens, the Williamsburg Pottery and hundreds of other shopping outlets. Just a little over an hour from Virginia Beach!
From the West (Richmond, etc.): Take exit 220 off I-64 and follow Rt 33 to the first traffic signal. Turn right at the signal onto Rt 30, and go 3.8 miles, just passing a mini-storage on the right, and the Barhamsville Post Office on the left. You will see the white Makemie Woods sign on your right. Turn right at the sign (Rt 632) and follow the paved road. In less than a mile you will see a small sign on your right, directing you left onto Rt 621, Ropers Church Rd. Turn left and go over two bridges covering the interstate. You will see the entrance to Makemie Woods on your right.
From the East (Tidewater VA area): Take exit 227 off I-64 and go North on Rt 30 approximately 2 miles. You will see the Makemie Woods sign on your left (Rt 632). (If you pass the Post Office, you have gone too far.) Follow the paved road. In less than a mile you will see a small sign on your right, directing you left onto Rt 621, Ropers Church Rd. Turn left and go over two bridges covering the interstate. You will see the entrance to Makemie Woods on your right.
From the North (Washington, DC): Take 95 South to 295 towards Williamsburg, Norfolk, Virginia Beach, etc. Take 295 to 64 East, and follow the above directions from the Richmond area.
From the South (North Carolina): Take 95 North to 295 towards Williamsburg, Norfolk, Virginia Beach, etc. Take 295 to 64 East, and follow the above directions from the Richmond area.
From West Point and the Middle Peninsula: Follow 33/30 across the bridges to the second traffic signal. Turn left on to Rt 30 and follow the directions\"From the West\" above.
