Once again the Barony by the sea must defend itself from Raiders. A hero is needed to lead the forces of Marinus, and collect the choice portion from the roasted beast. Come one come all, heavies, archers and Siege are needed to both take and defend the keep.
Martial Activities: Grand Melee to determine champion. Siege warfare for the treasure, Heavies, Archers, and siege fighting
Arts & Sciences Activities: Fishing contest using only period fishing gear. Catch and release please.

Cost Notes: RV hook up sites $20 a night. No families pay more then $30 for site cost.
Site: Camp Sky Anchor, 70 Idlewild Lane, Spring Grove, VA 23881
Site Restrictions: Dry Site, Pets must be on leash.
Feast: Roman style field kitchen to be set up and used to recreate food eaten on the march. (Perhaps a roast pig? Hmmmmmm) Dietary concerns please send to Event Steward.
Merchants: No site fees for merchants, expect to merchant outside.
Other Information: All activities will be done outside at this event in order to capture the spirit of siege warfare. This is also the only siege warfare practice scheduled by the Kingdom Siege Marshal.

Directions:
Make your best way to Richmond area to I-95 South or I-64 West, then to the I-295 bypass southeast of Richmond. Take Exit 15(Hopewell) and turn East. (Alternately, take I-95 south of Richmond to Exit 61. Turn East onto Hwy 10 toward Hopewell and pass under I-295 after approximately 3 miles.)
Follow Hwy 10 East into and through Hopewell. You will follow Highway 10 as its name changes from Randolph Rd, James River Dr, and Colonial Trail. You will pass through the towns of Garysville and Burrowsville. Look for the Junction of 611. About 6.miles after the Junction of 611, you will see the Idlewild Camp Sign on the left side of the road. The entrance to Sky Anchor is on the right side across from the sign. Go about 1/10th of a mile and make a right. Follow the dirt road around to the main building and Troll. (Signs will be posted.)
