The days may be cold but there is always a warm welcome at Midwinter's Tale. Help us while away the longer winter hours by sharing your friendship, your skills, and your knowledge.
If you have experience in any area (A&S or Martial), please share what you know (and what you have learned NOT to do.) It can be on any topic. There will be no scheduled classes - just casual discussions as the spirit moves you. Tell us what information you're willing to discuss and we'll post a list of the topics so others will know whom to go to.
Bring period board- and indoor-games, and any portable projects or works-in-progress. We'll also have European dancing after feast.
Martial Activities: Heavy-armor, rapier and archery. For more details, see the website.
Arts & Sciences Activities: There will be something for everyone. (1) Something made by a man to appeal to a woman. (2) Something made by a woman to appeal to a man. (3) Something made by a youngster (14 and under) for a child's amusement. (4) Bardic Arts (to be performed during feast): on the topic of Winter or cold weather. Site opens at 8 a.m. and closes at 9:30 p.m. Site Restrictions: Absolutely no alcohol, no firearms, no animals. Smoking is permitted in designated areas only, and the pool is off-limits. Feast: Feast will be a "below the salt" event with your cooperation. The Shire will provide meats (ham & turkey.) Please bring a covered dish that will serve at least 8-12 people, and a list of the ingredients for those with allergies or other dietary restrictions. Merchants: Please contact the Event Steward.
