Windmasters' Hill
Their Excellencies Girard and Guenièvre and the Barony of Windmasters’ Hill invite you to join us the weekend of February 12-14, 2010 for Ymir XXXV at the Betsy Jeff Penn 4H Center in Reidsville, NC. The winter winds blow in the second month of the year, and to help ward off the chill this site offers heated cabins and classroom space and hot showers. Martial Activities: Baron James of Middle Aston (mka James Wagner) will serve as Marshal-in-Charge for the day. You may contact him with any questions regarding martial activities at 919.496.7713 (before 10:00 PM). Syr Otto von Schwartzkatz plans to run a traditional double elimination tournament for the armoured combatants. Vicar Ceridwen ferch Owain will be marshaling the rapier tournament and promises “lots and lots of rapier fighting”. Please check the website for more detailed information.
Arts & Sciences Activities: There will be a Scroll Blank competition sponsored by the Triton Principal Herald. Dance classes will be offered by Lady Sophia the Orange. And, Lady Kateryn Rous, katrous[AT]yahoo.com, will be coordinating an open display and an Arts & Sciences competition for Norse Household Items. Site Restrictions: Pets permitted only on a leash. Fires allowed in only designated areas (pre-existing fire pits). Swim in the lake at your own risk; no lifeguard is on duty. Alcohol is permitted for those over the age of 21. No original containers. Please take your empties and trash home with you. Parking directly by the cabins is prohibited.
Feast Information: A feast for 100 persons shall be prepared by our Head Cook Lady Maria Beatriz la Mora (mka Hilda “Bambi” Riggsbee-Smith). Please be prepared to let her know what you are selling, your tent size (including ropes), whether your tent is modern or period, and whether you will be arriving on Friday or Saturday.
