(2010-09-10 - 2010-09-12 - Site opens at 5 PM & Closes at 11)
Lochmere

Please join us in celebrating the birth of our Barony and the investiture of our new Baron and Baroness. Our theme, inspired by the exquisite Unicorn tapestries is France, circa 1500, the dawn of the 16th century.

A&S Activities: In keeping with the theme, prizes will be awarded in each of the following categories: Men and Women\'s clothing (worn or displayed), Cooking, Accessories (pouches, jewelry, pater nosters, head coverings, etc), and Home Furnishings (furniture, painted or woven tapestries, etc). Please note that the time period for A&S activities has been broadened to 1420 - 1520 to increase entry possibilities. Her Excellency Baroness Margery and the incoming Baroness will be awarding a special prize for the best novice entry in any category. For the purpose of this competition, “novice” means first attempts or any art or science that you have been practicing for less than a year. Not feeling comfortable with the concept of “competition?” Then please, feel free to display your items, including works in progress. Plenty of table space will be provided. Documentation is encouraged.

Martial Activities: In celebration of this auspicious occasion, a Masters of Defense Style tournament will be held for both heavy and rapier fighters. Combatants will fight in multiple weapons forms. Their Excellencies will also determine the next Baronial Armored Champion. A Thrown Weapons tournament will also be held.

Feast: A sumptuous feast will be prepared by Sir Christian Darmody for Saturday evening -- please direct dietary concerns to him at syrdarmody[AT]yahoo.com. Breakfast and Lunch will be available for purchase as fundraisers on Saturday. After we enjoy the delicious feast, the populace is invited to remain in the hall for an evening of music and dancing!
