Tournament of the Golden Rose

The Ladies of the Order of the Rose invite you all to a day filled with pageantry and more!  On April 21, 2011, those Noble Ladies who have worn the Crown shall send forth Their Champions to the field, not prowess or vain glory, but to pay tribute to the Ideals held dear and encouraged by the Order.

Martial Activities:  Each Lady of the Rose will field a team of eight members. Each team will include one member of the Chivalry, two unbelted heavy fighters, one Companion of the Order of the White Scarf, two non-White Scarf fencers, one archer, and one herald.  Teams will be chosen in advance. Afterward, there will be a Bedford Points or Bear Pit tourney for all fighters attending the event.

Cost Notes:  There will be a $2 charge for those who register at the gate.

Site:  New Hope Camp and Conference Center 4805 Hwy 86, Chapel Hill, NC. Site will open at 8:00am and close at 7:00pm.

Site Restrictions:  No pets. No alcohol.  DO NOT DRIVE ONTO THE FIELD!

Feast Information:  There is no feast, but a sideboard will be open to all gentles during the day.

Other Information:  There will be Golden Rose t-shirts available for sale.

Directions:  

From the North: Take your best route to I-95 S. Merge onto I-85 S via EXIT 51 toward South Hill/Blackstone/Durham/Atlanta (Crossing into North Carolina). Take the NC-86 exit, EXIT 165, toward Chapel Hill/Hillsborough. Turn left onto NC-86  to arrive at 4805 NC HIGHWAY 86.

From the West: Take your best route to I-85 N. Keep right to take I-40 E via EXIT 163 toward Raleigh. Take the New Hope CH Rd exit, EXIT 263. Turn right onto NC-86 to arrive at 4805 NC HIGHWAY 86.

From the South: Take your best route to I-95 N Merge onto I-40 W via EXIT 81 toward Raleigh. Take the New Hope CH Rd exit, EXIT 263 Keep right at the fork to go on New Hope Church Rd. Take the 3rd right onto NC-86 miles to arrive at 4805 NC HIGHWAY 86.
