Summertime is upon us. Now that the ice has melted and the greenery has returned, travel the highways and byways of our fair Kingdom of Atlantia and help us celebrate the birthday of Sayyida Zafira (Mrs. Achbar) and Viscount Axel. Enjoy the artistic displays and partake in our kingdoms crafts. The Canton of Charlesbury Crossing invites all participants for a glorious day of light and heavy fighting. Bring your children to participate in youth activities and delight in the entertainment that will lead into court. Bring your newcomers and come out to enjoy the fellowship that the Barony of the Sacred Stone has to offer.

Martial Activities:  Heavy combat will consist of a bear pit followed by a bridge battle. Rapier will be Raphael\'s gambit. Both fields will open at 10 am for authorizations.

Arts & Sciences Activities:  Storytelling by Lady Thamira & Mistress Dervilla. Scribal Arts with Baron Wulfstan Egweald. Fiber Solar with Lord Dreux. Lampwork by Lady Murienne. There will be classes and many more arts. We would like as many hands on activities that potential newcomers could try as possible. If you have a loom or something that fits this description, please bring it. The more artisans the merrier!

Site:  Frank Liske Park, 4001 Stough Rd., Concord, NC 28027. Site opens at 10 am and closes at 6 pm.

Site Restrictions:  No alcohol permitted. This is a dry site and a tobacco free site.

Feast Information:  There will be a potluck style lunch. Please bring a dish to share with everyone. The canton will provide hot dogs and hamburgers. Also, due to allergies, please prepare a list of all ingredients in your dish. If your SCAdian name begins with A-M please bring a savory dish and if you SCAdian name begins with N-Z please bring a sweet dish.

Merchanting Information:  There will be NO merchants.

Other Information:  Youth Activities will begin at 11 am.

Directions:  Take your best route to I-85.

From the South: Take i-85 North to exit 49 for Bruton Smith Blvd toward Concord Mills Blvd. Turn right onto Bruton Smith Blvd. Turn left onto Concord Pkwy S. Turn right onto Roberta Church Rd. Turn right onto Roberta Rd. Take the 2nd left onto Stough Rd.

From the North: Take I-85 South to exit 58 to merge onto US-29 S/US-601 S/S Cannon Blvd toward Concord. Continue to follow US-29 S for 6.9 miles.Turn left onto Roberta Church Rd. Turn right onto Roberta Rd.Take the 2nd left onto Stough Rd Destination will be on the left.

From Monroe, NC: Take Hwy 601 N for 26.9 miles. Exit on the left onto N Carolina Hwy 49 S. Turn right onto Stough Rd.

From Asheville, NC: Take I-40 E to US-321 S to I-85 N. Then follow directions from Gastonia.

From Albemarle: Take N Carolina 73 W for 15 miles. Sharp right to merge onto N Carolina 49 S for 10.2 miles. Turn right onto Stough Rd.
