Chalice of the Sun God
(2016-10-22 - Site opens at 9 AM & Closes at 9 PM)
Ponte Alto

For the last twelve years teams have come together in Ponte Alto and clashed with mighty feats of arms, beautiful works of art, and incredible skill with Apollo’s own weapon, the bow. But this year the Chalice of the Sun God has disappeared from its owner\'s sight. This year it rests in the realm of Hades. So gather your teams to compete for the Chalice, before it vanishes to join Hades’ riches deep in the ground. Come and test your skills against those that seek the Chalice, and join the Barony of Ponte Alto in celebrating Chalice of the Sun God XIII.

Martial Activities: As in days past, you and a few of your closest friends can compete for the glory of the Chalice of the Sun God! We will have competitions in armored, rapier, archery, A&S, and Bardic/Performance. Each competition will use draws inspiration from the theme of the event. Here are a few more details:

Armored, rapier, archery competitions will sport elements of the theme and points will be calculated for each scenario as defined at the beginning of the competitions. Arts & Sciences entries must correlate with the theme. Documentation is highly recommended. Bardic/Performance participants should prepare two pieces; one of which also must correlate with the theme. The winner of each competition will challenge the 2015 Chalice Champion in that discipline. The winners receive bragging rights, and of course, CHOCOLATE!

Arts & Sciences Activities: Attend all ye Artisans and Performers of the fair Kingdom of Atlantia! It is time for a grand farewell. This, the 13th Chalice of the Sun God, will be the last time you will have the honor to compete for the title of Chalice Champion. The theme for this final Chalice will be “Chalice Goes to Hades”. This theme includes all things Hades-related, such as “journey to the Underworld”, Cerberus his three-headed guard dog, Charon the ferryman, memento mori, etc. Everything Is fair game as long as you can tie it back to the main theme. The A&S will be static display only. If you are part of a Chalice team, please let the A&S coordinator know so they can record the scoring appropriately. Documentation is encouraged, but is not required. There will also be an area for open A&S display for those who do not wish to compete for Chalice Champion.

Bardic Performers will be required to present their pieces to a panel of judges, led by Her Excellency Kel. Again, documentation is encouraged, but is not required.
