Would you be a hero? Attempt the 12 Labors of Hercules and vie for the honor of Baronial Champion in Heavy Fighting, Rapier, Archery, and Arts and Sciences March 12-14 at Rockahock Campground in New Kent/Lanexa, VA. Now is your chance to wear your finest Greek or Roman attire, or what your persona thinks the Ancient Greeks and Romans would have worn. Temperatures can be cool, so think wool togas!

Martial Activities: Lord Gavin MacFergus is in charge of the fighting activities and has planned some interesting Labors as well as a traditional tournament for the Championships.

Arts & Sciences Activities: Compete for the position of Baronial Champion. Also, there will be a “Knitted Things” competition as well for both novice (knitting less than 2 years) and expert (knitting more than two years). Documentation required. And, there will be a competition for the best poem or song in a period style about the Labors; documentation required.

Cost Notes: Please add $3 for reservations post-marked after March 5, and at the gate. Camping reservations MUST be received by March 5.

Site: Rockahock Campground, 1428 Outpost Rd, Lanexa, VA 23089.

Site Restrictions: Fires in existing pits or in elevated fire bowls only! Firewood is NOT available on site. You must bring your own. Alcohol consumption is allowed only in the campsites.

Other Information: The listed camping fee is for TENT CAMPING ONLY for which there is plenty of space. Yurts are available for $45.75 per night (bring a space heater!); cabins are available for $99 plus tax. Please contact the reservationist for more details. Reservations for cabins are first come, first serve and must be finalized by March 5, 2010. Pavilion space along the list field is available.

Take your best route to I-64 towards Williamsburg. From points west: I-64 East, take exit 214 (VA-155 toward New Kent), Right onto VA-155 (N. Courthouse Rd), Left onto US-60 (Pocahontas Trail), Right onto Rockahock Rd, Right onto Outpost Rd. Left into the campground.

From points east: I-64 West, take exit 231-A toward Norge/Toano/VA-30, merge onto Croaker Rd., Right onto US-60 (Richmond Rd), Left onto US-60/VA-30 (Richmond Rd/Rochambeau Rd), Left onto Rockahock Rd., Right onto Outpost Road. Left into the campground.
