Mid Winter Revel

To all good gentles, come experience excellent hospitality and warmth in the midst of January\'s dark and gloom at the Barony of Lochmere\'s Mid-Winter Revel. Join Their Excellencies, Galmr and Eydis, and the good gentles of Lochmere as we while away the dark winter hours with mirth and good cheer. The Revel will entertain and educate with classes, contests, and dancing.

Martial Activities: None.

Arts & Sciences Activities: All are invited to participate in four different arts and sciences competitions. Artisans may also display items without entering the competition. (1) Medieval Sweets: The assembled populace will vote on their preferred sweets from among those entered. Participants should provide a fair portion for the good gentles of the Barony to taste; recipes and documentation strongly advised and appreciated. (2) Medieval Winter: Participants should enter anything with a winter theme that falls within the Medieval period. All media allowed; documentation is strongly encouraged. One prize will be awarded for the best entry by any member of the assembled populace. (3) Medieval Toys: Participants of all ages are encouraged to submit a Medieval toy with documentation. Each entrant will receive a token; there will be 5 prize categories. Sponsored by Magistra Sigrid Briansdotter. (Additional information to on website.) (4) Performing: Performing artists (individuals and ensembles) are invited to participate in the “Popular Choice Performance Competition” as well as a non-competitive performance showcase. Performance pieces may be from any SCA period, genre, and/or region. Documentation is encouraged. Each performance should be no longer than 15 minutes; more time may be allotted depending on the number of performers. If you are interested in performing, please sign up for a time slot at troll or speak with the Event Steward (Lady Lena von Ossebrugge) Their Excellencies will select their new Baronial A&S Champion from the Lochmere entrants in any of the above categories. Please contact the Event Stewards if you wish to teach. We are working with the Atlantian University to provide credit to those interested.

Children, 0- 5: $0.00 Day Trip, $0.00 Feast

Cost Notes: Lunch is included with the day trip fee. Those wishing to stay for feast must add $9 to the day trip fee.

Site Restrictions: Site opens at 10:00 a.m. and closes at 9:00 p.m. The site is wet. No pets except service animals.

Feast Information: A hearty winter feast will be prepared by Master Reynard de La Rochefoucauld. The feast will be limited to 80 people. For questions concerning the feast contact Master Reynard at (410) 533-4536.

Take your best route to the intersection of MD- 2 and MD-258. The church is less than half a mile north of MD-258 on the east side of MD-2. There is parking in front of the church and directly across the street.
