Le Grand Tournoi d'Amitié - The Great Tournament of Friends
(2010-04-16 - 2010-04-18 - Site opens at 1:00 PM & Closes at 2:00 PM)
Attilium
The Grand Tourney of Friends combines Armored, Rapier, Archery, Equestrian, and A&S competitions. All the participants will be combined into three teams, led by Count Vlad (from the Northern Steppes of Atlantia), Duke Cuan (from the heart of Central Atlantia), and Count Sinclair (from the Southern Reaches of Atlantia). As guests arrive, they will be assigned to one of three teams – Red, Blue, or Black. Embracing the spirit of a Tourney of Friends, arriving competitors will be assigned randomly.Martial Activities: One central arena will be used and shared by equestrian, armored, and rapier tournaments. Archers will compete on their own grounds. The Tourneys will be offered so that every fighter will have plenty of chances to fight. Armored Marshal Maestro Gill Callixtus Gill will provide a standard double elimination or round robin tourney depending upon the size and depth of his assembled fighters. Rapier fighters will enjoy the tests of skill developed by both Lords Tiernen Ferrell and Adelric Falke. Lord Manus has planned exceptional archery shoots to challenge even the most seasoned veteran of the bow. Equestrians will enjoy their friendship challenge in their own arena within throwing distance of all activities.
Arts and Sciences: There will be Arts & Sciences displays and competitions, and competitors will be assigned a team. Bring your best. Points will be awarded from the four disciplines of equestrian, armored, rapier, archery AND Arts & Sciences. Everyone, no matter the discipline, will help their team toward victory. Even if you are not competing, there will be plenty to do. A Bardic circle is planned for the evening complete with drumming and dancing. Bring your gear and stay awhile!
