The Winter\'s cold has put ice upon the banks of Atlantia\'s waters and chased all her populace indoors for the season. It is among these days that we share our heart and home with friends and family from near and far. Revel with us inside the warm halls of our Barony of Lochmere. Take joy in the company of old friends, while meeting new ones. Come share a day of merriment celebrating the warmth of our Hearth and Home. Allow yourself the fullfillment of playing games of strategy and fun. Contending with cousins in our chess and backgammon matches - test your wits and luck with others in various other games we have planned for you. Take pride in the fruits of your hard work and talents  by displaying your labors in one of our several arts and science displays and competitions. Learn new pastimes or brush up on known crafts along with our skilled artisans by participating in an available class. Enjoy the efforts of many who will come to sing and play in the performers competition. Stay for our boutiful feast prepared by the hands ofDuchess Marie-Simone de Barjavel and her band of clever cooks. Lastly, dance with us til the end of the evening and take home a day of memories that will keep your spirit warm till Spring\'s anticipated breath breaks Winter\'s grasp.

Arts & Sciences Activities:  To assist in the celebration an A&S competition is offerred to the populace. Participate in one or all of the following: 1)  Best Sweet Dish, 2)  Best Savory Dish, 3)  Best Beverage (a special hour will be allowed for the entries that are alcoholic in nature), 4)  Best Novice entry of any medium. As always, there will be an area available for displays. Also, Magistra Sigrid Briansdotter will be sponsoring a competition for Medieval Toys, and welcomes all to participate.  Please bring a toy, or many, made by your own hand and provide information in writing what is this toy and where and when this toy would have been used. Magistra, Sigrid would also appreciate it if you would explain your knowledge of how it would have been made and how you made it. Additional illumination would also be appreciated.

The Barony of Lochmere also invites all performing artists (individuals and ensembles) to participate in the “Popular Choice Performance Competition” as well as a non-competitive performance showcase.  Performance pieces may be from any SCA period, genre, and/or region. Each performance should be no longer than 15 minutes; more time may be allotted depending on the number of performers. Please contact Mistress Arianna Morgan at chrissings[AT]juno.com.

From the South:
Best route to I-495 Beltway. On I-495 take exit 11A to MD-4/Pennsylvania Ave. toward Upper Marlboro. Continue to follow MD-4. Exit onto W. Bay Front Rd./MD-258 toward Bristol/Deale. Turn left onto MD-2 North bound. Destination is on your right.

From the North:
Best route to Annapolis MD-2 south, Follow MD-2 south, at traffic circle take 3rd road to continue on MD-2. Destination will be on left.
