Duke William the Conqueror is ready to cross the channel with his pre-built fortifications and his horses. William has also built a large fleet and invaded England in September 1066, decisively defeating and killing Harold Godwinson at the Battle of Hastings on 14 October 1066. decisively defeating and killing Harold Godwinson at the Battle of Hastings on 14 October 1066. After further military efforts William was crowned king on Christmas Day 1066. Various fighting scenarios will be held throughout the weekend. At the same time the following martial arts competitions will occur: 1) Best Overall Heavy Fighter of the Event 2) Best Overall Rapier 3) Best Overall Archer 4) Best Overall Chivalrous Behavior (by poll of all fighters) 5) Armor - A competition for fighters or others who make items related to fighting. This category will be judged by their Majesties,a member of the Chivalry, and the current Baronial A & S Champion.
Arts & Sciences Activities: Classes in Russian Clothing & Embroidery; Soapmaking; Falconry; Viking Wire Weaving; as well as competitions in fiber arts. Largesse Competition: William was crowned in London on Christmas Day 1066. How can there be a coronation of a King without gifts for His Majesty? This is an open competition with prizes for the top three placements. Make an article fit to be given as a gift to their Majesties for Their use as largesse.

Site Restrictions: Wet site. Our site is in a beautiful dell, but is basically a farm field. It may pose challenges to those with mobility issues. Please plan accordingly. Ground fires are allowed if the pits are filled in, stones and wood removed from the site or into the woods. Dogs welcome - must always be on leash and with a responsible adult.
Feast Information: Magnificent feast for 70. No refunds. Breakfast & lunch on Saturday are fundraisers. Fighters will have their own sideboard.
